The UCL Tech for Good Competition is a flagship entrepreneurial initiative led by the UCL Centre for Digital Innovation (UCL CDI) seeking UCL students, alumni, academics and collaborators with a tech for good innovation.
Eligible startups* have the chance to pitch for and win from a suite of prizes including:
We are seeking evidence-based, commercially-viable and sustainable technological innovations with a connection to UCL and a potential for profound impact. Tech for good innovations utilise technology responsibly to tackle key challenges in areas such as healthcare, education, real estate, and the climate crisis.
*Eligibility Criteria:
Following the assessment of applications, 5 finalists will be selected to pitch in person to competition judges and an audience on 17 June 2025 at IDEALondon, 69 Wilson St, London EC2A 2BB. Each pitch will be followed by Q&A with the UCL Tech for Good Competition judges.
Pitches will be scored based on the below judging criteria; once the pitches have completed the judges will provide feedback and winners will be announced.

Quality of the business idea | Problem is real, solution meets target customer needs and the idea has market potential |
Business viability | Business has a sustainable business model and has demonstrated some market traction |
Technology & Innovation | Business is able to showcase their utilisation of new technologies or innovations |
Potential for impact | Business has potential/ambitions to have a net positive societal, social and/or environmental impact |
Credibility of team | The founder/team has/have the necessary skills and commitment to successfully execute the business |
